ECoRSA retain All-India Lalmony Memorial cricket title

East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA), Khurda Road, retained the title in the 30th All-India Lalmony Memorial Cricket Tournament, defeating South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA), Ranchi in the final, via super over at Gandhi ground at Sonepur today.

Super over rule was applied after the twin final ended 1-1 draw. Left-arm spinner Jayant Behera played instrumental role in the ECoRSA triumph, achieving a hat-trick in the super over. He was adjudged the man of the final match. The man of the tournament prize was bagged by Jitendra Kumar of SERSA.

SERSA won the T20 match by three wickets, while ECoRSA won the T10 match by 24 runs. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while the runners-up side was given Rs 30,000. Odisha Assemby Speaker Niranjan Pujari and Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Sahoo handed over the trophy cash prizes at the closing function.

RESULTS (Final):
T20 match: ECoRSA 100/10 in 17.2 overs
(Girija Rout 31, Lagnajit Samal 20; Jitender Kumar 4 wkts, Kuldeep Sharma 2 wkts) lost to SERSA 101/7 in 17.3 overs (Kuldeep Sharma 28, Amit Kumar 26*; Ankit Yadav 4 wkts, Rakesh Mohanty 2 wkts) by 3 wkts.
T10 match: ECoRSA 105/9 in 10 overs
(Prasant Sahoo 39, Sujit Lenka 23; Nagendra Kumar 3 wkts, Raju Pande 2 wkts) beat SERSA 81/8 in 10 overs (Jayant Behera 4/9, Malay Jena 2 wkts) by 24 runs.
